The Alphabet of Monograms, by Henry Lillie is a beautiful little book showing monogram designs. Published by Day & son of London in 1865, the leather cover has a very ornate gold stamping which sets the precedent for the rest of the book. Over 26 pages it shows examples of extremely detailed one, two and three colour monograms, it's aim to show customers and hand engravers what design was possible.

Tilly and Friends Birthday card
I was asked to create two birthday cards using illustrations from the popular BBC children's programme Tilly and Friends. Using Illustrator and Photoshop i took the characters and placed them in a greeting card design, making sure i included small elements from the magazine which accompanies the show - complete with stars, small patterns and even music notes. The small detailing made a big difference to the design in the final product.
Examples i was given of Tilly and Friends to work with
and create a birthday card design:

I am always here
Happy birthday spanner, i have involved my love of leaves, plants, patterns and navy blue for you..
I am always here for you, singing your praises.
If i could tell you how incredible I think you really are, I would.
If i could take all of the stars for you to wish upon, I would.
If it were possible to halt the rain and for you to only have blue skies, I would.
I am always here for you singing your praises.
Do not worry little one, I am forever here.

David's Diamond Jubilee
A commission piece i've been working on for someone. Instead of saying 60, we went with the jubilee regal theme, complete with crown. I love working with navy in any piece of design, so these were a treat..!

Sugar Paper
Simple yet beautiful stationery by Sugar
Paper. Chelsea and jamie created a wonderfully chic brand 'after falling in
love with the simplicity and nostalgia of letterpress printing.'
Love the happy holidays card with the leaf detail.
